Objective
The Marketing & Communications Office (MCO) at CNM was known for its trust, creativity, and fun spirit. With a team of 30+ across Web, Design, and Communications, we focused on telling inspiring student stories. Our goal was to re-align department culture to reflect the passion and achievements of our students, showing that anyone can succeed. We aimed to showcase our enthusiasm, team spirit, and creative work, inspiring others to see themselves at CNM and involved with MCO.
Project Scope
To build a strong team culture at MCO, we defined core values: reliability, authenticity, enthusiasm, inclusivity, collaboration, efficiency, creativity, and a passion for learning. We drew from our experiences and work environment to craft clear, impactful value statements that fostered community spirit and aligned MCO with its role as the voice of CNM and its students.
Inspiration & Process
MCO leadership asked me to design signage, apparel, and promotional materials that captured the department's culture. The goal was to reflect unity within a structured team. My approach combined hand-crafted lettering, illustrations, and textures to showcase the skill and passion we bring daily, resulting in bold, artistic designs that stayed true to our values while conveying a fun and collaborative spirit.

Conclusion
MCO and I led the restructuring of our department’s culture, tackling bureaucracy that stifled creativity and efficiency. We introduced a new identity celebrating creativity, passion, and teamwork, reflected in the signage, apparel, and lifestyle items I designed. This transformation boosted CNM’s recognition, earned awards, sparked student interest, and fostered pride within the MCO team.
